ÖzÜ AI Platform:
Strategic Overview

The Özyeğin University Artificial Intelligence Platform (OzU AI Platform) serves as a strategic bridge between academia, the business world, and the public sector, aiming to integrate the transformative power of AI into corporate strategies. Our core mission is to blend academic knowledge with the vision of industry leaders to increase stakeholder awareness and provide a perspective that enables decision-makers to make informed choices when shaping corporate roadmaps.

By bringing together universities, the production centers of knowledge, and the business world, we create an environment where our members can learn about global developments directly from leading practitioners. Built upon the three pillars of “Research,” “Education,” and “Social Impact,” this structure adds strategic depth to our institutions’ digital transformation journeys while aiming to carry Turkey’s AI ecosystem toward a visionary future grounded in scientific foundations.

ÖzÜ AI Platform

Core Goals and Vision

  • Cross-Sectoral Synergy & Idea Exchange: To serve as a neutral ground where university, public, and private sector leaders exchange “best-in-class” practices. The focus is on the cross-pollination of ideas, allowing successful AI frameworks from one industry to inspire strategic breakthroughs in another.
  • Thought Leadership & Executive Mentorship: To cultivate a high-level network of AI-literate decision-makers. By connecting C-suite executives with international experts, the platform facilitates a unique mentorship ecosystem that shapes the “ideas of tomorrow” and defines the standard for industrial leadership in the digital age.
  • Strategic Intelligence & Ethical Governance: To move beyond technical jargon and focus on the strategic impact of AI. This includes sharing real-world implementation experiences and developing unified perspectives on ethical frameworks and legal compliance, ensuring that innovation is both responsible and sustainable.
  • Applied Innovation & Academic Integration: To bridge the gap between academic research and corporate dynamism through a “Proof of Concept” approach. By offering member institutions access to seed-funded research, specialized training, and the entrepreneurship ecosystem, the platform turns theoretical knowledge into tangible corporate and societal value.
  • Collective Impact & National Vision: To document and disseminate the platform’s findings through annual strategic reports and high-profile events. The ultimate goal is to lead Turkey’s AI narrative and strengthen the nation’s global competitive standing through a unified innovation road map.

Unlike many AI platforms that primarily target middle management or IT teams to raise awareness, the ÖzÜ AI Platform is designed specifically for board members and C-level executives who are responsible for shaping business strategy.
The primary goal is to foster strategic dialogue between academia and industry on AI-driven business transformation, focusing on decision-makers at the board and C-level.
Primarily board members, CEOs, CTOs, CIOs, Chief Data/AI Officers, and other executives who influence business strategy related to AI.

Yes. While the platform is primarily cross-industry, we plan to organize one or two sector-focused events (e.g., finance or retail) to address the specific interests of our member base. These will complement our broader, strategy-focused discussions.
Yes. In addition to the quarterly C-level meetings, we plan to organize interim engagement events for member company teams. These may include workshops, roundtables, or briefing sessions on emerging AI topics, tailored to the interests and needs of our members.
For interim events, participation may extend to other relevant teams within member organizations.
This is a collaborative platform designed to facilitate partnerships among member companies and universities. If a company identifies a training need on a specific topic, the platform can coordinate with the participating universities to design and deliver tailored sessions, depending on their respective areas of expertise. Beyond training, the platform also supports the co-design of research collaborations, working groups, and other forms of engagement based on member priorities.
Member companies are expected to actively engage in quarterly meetings, designate representatives for interim events, and contribute insights or case studies where relevant. Participation in working groups or collaborative projects is encouraged but flexible.
Yes. The platform aims to facilitate awareness and guidance on AI-related funding opportunities, including EU framework programs (e.g., Horizon Europe) and national support schemes. We may also coordinate collaborative proposals or knowledge-sharing sessions on funding strategies.
While the platform itself is not a commercial consultancy, we plan to facilitate access to expert advisors, organize peer-to-peer sessions, and connect members with relevant academic and industry expertise.
The platform facilitates collaboration between industry and academia but does not directly provide infrastructure. Any access to university resources—such as labs or computing facilities—would require a separate agreement with the specific university, depending on availability and alignment with the proposed activity.
